Workin on these dang vehicle's. That's what's up today.. :headbang:. My truck needs balljoints and shocks, tahoe needs some steering work, and yesterday the wife vw started throwing misfire codes.

All 3 decided they wanted to have problems all at once i guess. I did the ignition coils and plugs on her car last fall and it's throwing a misfire code on 3 cylinders this time :picard:. It's worse on a cold start so i did a little googlin and learned about carbon build up on the intake valves on this "direct injection" engine. The build up can cause cold start misfires. Looks like im pulling the intake manifold this weekend to do some valve cleanin :hair:

    The joys of GDI technology.
Too bad there's not a way to dump cold water in the manifold, used to work wonders for cracking carbon on a dieseling engine

It's a great concept, then again it isn't lol. Yea my buddy recommended the water trick but we can't figure out how without pulling the pcv line and that will cause the computer to go haywire.

We've got a couple inches of snow on the way. My bikes been sitting. Every time it appears the roads are nearly clean enough and ready to ride, it snows again, and sand and salt gets put on the roads again.

Wonder if the Stihl decarbonizer would do the trick? Used to work magic on the baby valves in a 4-mix.

I feel your pain. Picked up my bike out of storage last Thursday and then it decided to snow over the weekend. But could they plow the 5-6" we got? Oh no, they just dumped tons of sand and salt. Even the heavy rains we have gotten the last couple of days haven't managed to wash the big piles of loose stuff off the curves, they piled it on so heavy.

Caffeine going down. Almost time to make breakfast for the family and coffee for the wife. I absolutely have to make a dump run first thing this morning after they are off to school. Haven't gone in a while. I will swing up to my parents and get there garbage, and over to the Wood Chop Shop to pick up some bar and chain oil and another new chain for that beautiful 24" bar that Jon gave me for the S.S. exchange. What a guy! Then load up my trash and get it chucked into he county's transfer station. Then it will be time to go cut some wood with that new bar and chain. :dex:

At this point i don't think any additives will help. It seems to be a common problem on these direct injection engines and once the build up is there, it's time to clean the valves.

Doesn't look to be a bad job on her car, just have to remove a million screws and plugs to get the manifold off :picard:

    Yes it has!
In the last few weeks both of the GF's daughters have come back home to roost.20 and 23.
I enjoy having both of them around but the circumstances which the older one came home under have me fit to be tied with a burning rope!!! A rope Id like to put around her now ex boyfriends neck.:rootintootin:
When I remodeled this place 10 years ago in my late 30s I had no intention of having kids. 3 years ago I got 3 without a father. Theres now 5 packed in a 1600 sq ft 2 bedroom with a cubby loft . All 3 have never been home at the same time as per college.
The extra bodies don't take up much room ,,, its the extra clutter that came with that drives me crayzeeee !:hair::wacky:
    Vent over.

She was with him 2 years and I never met him. NEVER once came to the house. Might of held a job 3 months in those 2 years.Theyve lived out of spare bedrooms of friends for the last 2 years. Drained "my daughter" of about $20K. Pretty sure hes a crack head. And the last straw was a couple beatings.Karma will be expedited . Shes a mess but she has her mothers will . It wont be long and she'll be back to her old self. Shes actually my favorite out of the 3 and its hitting me hard.
