    1) I am jealous of whoever received a part of your genealogy and expert craftsman skills. Heck, I would pay big $$ for something like that!
    2) I skirted Gas and he cut me off at the pass, no substitutions or replacements per Gas. He is a true gentleman (as jon1212 hilariously pointed out in his post),
    3) This only a gift exchange and I pray whoever was the absent SS is doing ok, chit happens. KWIM?

    I got a really cool Stihl sign from swags. I posted pics and a thank you earlier in this thread. But the guy I sent a cutting board to for the gift exchange apparently didn't feel the need to extend the same courtesy. Indeed he hasn't logged onto the site since Last December. It took a lot of effort to turn those trees into cutting boards and some sort of acknowlegement that he even received it would have been nice. I felt a little bit robbed.

    When I read that Gas was still waiting, I was convinced it was the same guy. Turns out I was wrong. So it ends up it was more a lack of courtesy rather than downright thievery.


    Sorry for the outburst. In the future ill leave the detective work to Perry Mason and Magnum PI.

    I saw the grades too, but once you select the size the only option seems to be "dark robust" no mater which bottle or size you pick, it's what I would have picked anyway.

    Yea I can't believe no one would thank someone for a handmade gift like that!!! I will thank you for your effort and sending such a hand made gift out like that!

    They have changed the names of the grades of syrup....
    they are grade a ... light amber or fancy...a light golden color.. the best to make sugar creme with one sugar on snow.
    Grade b ... medium amber a darker golden brown more maple deeper flavor.. some perfer. pancake favorite
    Grade c dark amber great for baking.. and glazes.... some prefer do not make candies with it!

    Used to be fancy was more 5 more per gallon and each grade would drop by 5 dollar a gallon..

    Then other started pricing equal and it stuck... it really takes same amount of work to make... You only get fancy with cleanest pans and premium sap. once sap starts to age it yellows and medium is best you can achieve... Know who your buying from because if everything isn't cleaned or done right your syrup can get a burnt taste and that's just wrong!

    I will definitely check them out. I have been paying for shipping for many years now, as I have never lived near the East Coast. Most of the time I think I pay more for shipping than the actual product! It is worth it, though. Thanks again.
