Yeah ^^^^ what he said. You'd be very hard pressed to buy quality work like that these days. It's all pressboard and quick-screws. Very nice work and attention to detail. As you said, everything may not be 100% perfect.. but I'd give you an A+ on your work. Chaz
And if you ever get to meet Shawn Curry, you’d be even more impressed.... he’s a stand up guy, and a model FHC member
Well, when we finally do meet up, I just hope his expectations aren't too high. I have a hard time living up to other peoples measurements. I am a no BS type of guy (life's too short for games), it's take it or leave it. I'll always be honest, and I don't screw people over. I drink and live my life according to my own standards, but am reliant on no-one other than my employer for my livelihood. My house is no Taj-Mahal, but at 7.5 yrs in, it's now half paid for. There is always a beer in the fridge for friends who wish to partake, and other drinks should they prefer. I am who I am, and can be no-one else. Chaz
You sir present yourself like what most of us turn out to be in person at a GTG. And when we show up to help a family/couple, this is ALWAYS what shines thru. Sheeeeit, I can’t wait to see ya at an FHC GTG, b/c I’ve only ever met great folks at FHC GTG’s
Thanks guys! But I’m just another guy who probably plays with his wood too much.. Chaz - if I have another one at my place I’ll let you know. I had a few of the guys over last year. I bribed them all to cut some trees for me with 30# of BBQ pork spare ribs, smoked turkey, pulled pork, and all the trimmings. I’ll probably make the same offer again this year.
Looks fantastic, Shawn! Love seeing something handcrafted from start to finish. There's something to be said for felling a tree and making something out of it that will be handed down for generations, great work.
Shawn Curry What was it the "A Man Alone in the Wilderness" guy said? "Most people make parts of things I like to build from start to finish" or words to that effect. I imagine you get a huge amount of satisfaction out of building a table that you literally took from the tree to the front room! Excellent wood and joinery my friend! Metalcuttr
