I don’t have a clue I do the service, diagnostic, and repair work not the sale end of farms. Our install crew probably knows they spent A year building the place. I do know farms are multi million dollar plus operations these days.
goodness gracious Pete, you are always up to something. More irons on the fire than I can count. Looks like you are going to be all set for wood storage. Now the idea is to fill them up! How are the veggies coming along?
This one is stationary where the cows walk in and get milked. We have a bunch of rotary parlors that we service too.
I buy industrial robots before we sell them to companies. Those could be around 10k . Probably less after watching the video. I'm sure they are udderly expensive still.
No kidding. Those totes sell for 100-150. Nice job Pete. But are we gonna be seeing you as ICB Pete? Edit: I am late for the party...sheesh. Oh man.
That looks great Pallet Pete. It's kind of ironic that you have started using IBC totes and I have started using pallets. But only out of necessary as my wood supply has outstripped my IBC supply! I have even tried my hand at stacking like the master Backwoods Savage, complete with cribbing. I still prefer the IBC totes, being galvanised steel they will outlast the timber frames I have been building buy a long shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You have an insane amount of wood! I wish we had that much space... At one point we had over 40 full cord but I was using other properties and ended up selling most of it when we where in need. Now I’ve got maybe 10 full cord but that’s still 3 years worth for us in normal winters. Last winters cold snap ate up a lot more than planned. How much firewood do you have split?
I’ve got a hair brained idea in my head as usual and it’s probably gonna happen this year.. We have a bunch of plastic pallets I brought home and the plan is once the area behind the garage is cleaned up and organized I’m making a gravel seating area. It will be like a small park behind the garage. I want to burry the pallets on top of 30 year weed cloth and use them as a 4” retaining wall for the gravel. Fill the gravel into the pallets and make a big gravel patio basically. Put a nice yard swing and table area back there with a portable fireplace. The idea with the totes is simply to clean up the yard. The biggest problem with pallets is though they work good they only last so long then start sinking into the ground and rotting. It doesn’t bother me to bad obviously but I’d like something that will be orderly and last for a very long time to come. Gonna be OCD to the max.
Pallet Pete I have 85 cubic meters which I think calculates out to 23 full cords. I burn 6 to 8 cubic meters a year so I have a 10 to 14 year plan going, thanks FHC. My original plan was to rotate 40 IBC's but I just can't stop hoarding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pallet Pete I had a similar idea but instead of a patio it was going to be the driveway to the new shed/workshop I am having built, however a few days ago this happened. 72 metric tons of basalt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Im actually considering using the pallets in front of my shed as well in order to make a new low maintenance area for the ramp to go on. This ramp is getting made of decking and will be 6 ft long rather than 4 and will have angle iron guide rails on the sides to help the splitter backing into the shed. Its a tight squeeze to get it through the shed doors.
The road is crushed volcanic rock. Rain yes, the reason the job isn't finished yet is it started raining and the earth movers had to stop before the yard turned in to a bog. We get about 24" of rain a year most of it from May through October. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
