No problem with the EasyBlaze they feed fine with little ash and good heat . I'm happy with them . I'll update a little more later.

With a spring type auger, the Quads are less picky on longer pellets.

But... As jtakeman noted, the will be lower. A smaller pellet feeds more per revolution. But that means the bag will burn slightly faster. Somersets in my Quad were my favorite (still my favorite). I could get the same heat, or greater, than on Medium with the long American Wood Fibers (1"-2" in length).

I'm happy to know auger jams will not be a problem . Right now I'm actually burning through a 1/2 ton of FSUs I picked up when I first had the stove installed which are very uniform and small . I'm running the stove on Med with the feed all the way open and my swing set to # 6 on the Lux so I can get to my EBs . sooner . :D

Look at post # 240 from steve gordon in this thread:

Lignetics? | Page 12 | Firewood Hoarders Club

Appears the pellets go through a secondary process that reduces them to the standard size. Maybe some of yours slipped past that process. Glad to hear they are burning nicely for you, regardless! Also in that same thread Steve mentioned some douglas fir has been known to make it into the process. Purely speculation, but maybe that could account for the color variation you see? If so, that just makes it good news. Stay warm!

Love the platinum pellets. This is timely, check out Steve's review of them from earlier today. Hot off the presses!

For what it's worth here's the code from one of my bags of EasyBlaze . Again the test bags were blonde in color and 1/4 - 1 inch . The 2 tons I received were much darker a little chunkier and 3/4 of an inch to 1 1/2 and occasionally 1 3/4 . But let me say I ended up loving them and the more beefy size , they throw off great heat and burn very clean . Will definitely order more .

I see that. That would be another thread.

For now, Im just informing how there was going to be a slight decrease in cost of an item B compared to A, and how for whatever reason, it isn't there.
