I just ran the 2171, 460, and this 461 with same chain. 460 and 461 tuned to 14,500 and 2171 to 13,500. Took 3 timed cuts (4 on the 2171, but a dawg stuck on the 1st cut. So it didn't count).. I then time each set twice (6 total times). Then get an average for all 6 times. 461 = 4.8 sec 2171= 4.84 sec 460 = 4.86 MS 461: 2171 (for comparison): MS 460 (for comparison):
I have a deal with Steven on the 2171 and the 460 has sentimental value. So this saw is the one that is being sold to put up funds for another saw. It's no slouch. Runs, oils, and pizz revs like a pro!! The 2171 is the real pizz revver!! Man that saw sounds sweet!!
Nice Saw!! Real Nice Saw Dexter. Where's/Who has the 661 for sale? Edit, I was probably being to presumptuous, with my above comment, Sorry!
not to hijack Dex's for sale thread. At least it bumps the thread.... They make a smooth bumper, that might be good for your milling. We talked about them in this thread, look at post #93 that might be helpful. Part # 0000 664 0700 http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/threads/facelift-for-ms-362-c.10028/page-5#post-277286
That trade is always reversed. That 440 is one of the only saws I regretted getting rid of. Even though both of them beat my 460 today.. That 460 means a lot to me. A whole lot...
If I hadn`t just bought a MMWS MS460..... Eric VW - Just buy it. You won`t regret it. Sell one of your current saws to fund your truck project...
I would, I just don't have the capital on hand... And taking out a small personal loan to fund my CAD could end my marriage
