Yes, 100% of the time. Previous to splitting into my skid steer bucket, I split and let them fall into a pile. I wanted the capability of moving the splitter away from the pile and moving to the next. I would have multiple piles lined up and a wonderful person that loved to stack wood at a later time.

Nice, actually nearly perfect, but a 150 lb log lift is not going to cut it.

Agreed. It looks like it lifts big stuff no problem. I believe it’s because the machine gets tippy without an outrigger above that weight. As demonstrated here:

Ahhh. Much better. I like how compact that splitter is.

Me too! Would be super easy to store. The honest 7.5 ton rating doesn’t scare me a bit either. Looks like it splits just as well as any box store “20-25 ton” splitter. Which we all know is overstated lies.

I don’t know, my country pro 25T is putting out 3600 psi and that works out to 24 T

That's oddly high pressure...many/most box/farm store splitters won't actually do over 3k. Often times the hoses are rated for less than what they claim the pump is capable of too...3600 PSI on a 4" cyl is 45,239 lbs push/force...3k PSI is 37,699 push/lbs.

Hoses are rated for 36.0 MPa which converts to 5200 psi.

That's what came on it?! That's working pressure, or burst?
Holy moly, that's the highest I've ever heard of on a splitter that wasn't full blown commercial!

We all love pics. Would be cool to see how you plumbed in the pressure gauge.
    :ithappened:

must be the “pro” in country pro.  Most Chinese manufactured box store splitters aren’t equipped with such high quality parts though.

Don’t get me wrong here folks I’m not, by any means, badmouthing the capabilities of box store “20-25 ton” log splitters. On the contrary I rocked my FILs box store 20 ton splitter for many a year until I could save up for a splitter of our own. That machine split everything I ran through it.

It’s the fudging of the numbers on most that I take issue with.

That’s all shown in the link I provided.

“Most” all this BBS splitters are all YTL sourced splitters anyway.

the tray and 4-way splitter is all County Line parts I got from Tractor Supply.

why?, because both splitters are YTL brands

I've owned this Troy Bilt 27 ton unit for about 10 years or so. 5.5 Honda. I change the engine oil every season and the hydraulic oil w/filter every 3 years. It always starts and splits everything I've thrown at it.
