Rob Stafari what you need to do is post got saws will travel for beer and gas:D and get some paid vacation and cutting in did you were from Vermont/New Hampshire got family to visit up here need a place to cut you let me know..

I can't imagine owning saw splitter if I didn't heat with wood, or own land or have weather and needed to clean up a mess.. but then I would need bonfire wood and come to think of it I did have a little one on boat... why do you need a saw on boat .. cause there islands in the lake that need fires... OK I get it.. you are not alone:whistle:

Well the splitter belongs to the owner of the little ranch which I helped take care of for the past two years. It was only used in the past when others came to help split. While I was property manager her old 034 died from lack of proper maintenance for years before I arrived and in all honesty I didn't really know when I arrived. She would've bought a new one, but since it was on my watch I took it upon myself since I was the one that would be using it. With 15 acres full of dead ash trees starting to rain widowmakers, being without a decent sized saw(she still has an old 009) was simply not an option. So after much reading and research I found myself a nice lightly used craigslist Makita dcs6401 last spring with an immaculate looking piston. That's when I caught the bug. Then the ms200t showed up last fall. Early spring the 394xp. Last month a running 034 Super with a scored piston in need of some love. It was a basket case somebody else who didn't really know what they were doing put together. The next day 026 with fuel delivery issues, but with another immaculate piston and a case for $50, how could I not jump on that one? Got lucky there I was the first to call, two others had on my way there. My friends are trying to schedule an intervention

I already go on a lot of work vacations, but am always open to more. I like consider myself multi-faceted craftsman. Finish carpenter(mostly)/full service remodeler with a small box truck full of quality tools. Yes I already had a tool addiction before the chainsaws came into my life. Was a traveling barista at music festivals for a while. Worked with a production company setting up stages/hooking up generators and such for a while. Glassblowing has been a hobby for a long time. Lets just say I fully embrace my OCADD.

My mother was raised in Hartland and I still have a lot of family there and the surrounding areas. Have a great aunt/uncle just north of the Victory bog which as far as the north woods are concerned should be close to you no matter where you are up in God's country. Next time I'm up to visit I'd love to come by for a visit. I'll pick up some Sip of Sunshine, Heady Topper, and Hill Farmstead on the way I plan on heading up to the old family farm in Hartland come spring to help my cousins in Hartland with the maple sugaring. I want to learn the ropes and contribute to the production of the worlds best syrup which I've been so spoiled to enjoy my entire life.

Sorry to ramble on, I can get carried away at times. Truly a pleasure to meet all you fellow hoarders.

Ramble on Rob, mothers family is from Bridgewater so I can find Hartland if I really look for it.. isn't heady topper made in hardwick.. usually hard to get.. for those that don't know a micro brew and only make xxx amount a week.. Grab cases for friend when he goes down south.. Yup, wouldn't know a sugar arch if I saw one lol.. great uncle had 250 tap bush when spring break at college came around. friends went to spring break I went to hills to to tap him out.. at 84 he couldn't do it after his heart attack but stopping sugaring wasn't an option.. it can be a religion up here with some of the old timers... there syrup tastes better.. IMO!

    Welcome aboard Rob Stafari
You understand that we will need pics of the glass blowing now, don't you? :D And be careful not to hiccup while you're at it!

And yes, after one season with us, you'll be getting a wood stove!

Well about that. My old computer crashed and I haven't taken the time to restore any of my backups yet. That'll give me something to do in the winter. So I only have three glass related photos at the moment. Haven't even touched the torch in the past year beyond wiping off the cobwebs. :emb: So this is what you get for now... Thanks all for the warm welcomes. I will head to the photo posting instructions and the manual for this shiny new PITA smartphone my wife finally badgered me into and get some pics rolling post haste!

I should have grabbed some this evening while I was measuring out the hardwood stacks to try and get a backwoods roofing setup working. Sitting right around 14 cord of the good stuff, probably close to the same in shoulder wood once I finish processing it all. I hope to only use half of it this year, but you know what they say about wishing in one hand...

(Test pic of my critter and the wife's foot possibly below..)

Welcome from north central Mass. I'm pretty sure I've been through your western Mass town at one point or another on my motorcycle this past year.

Hey, my name is Travis and I don't really consider myself a firewood nympho, it's just something I've always done. I honestly didn't see my first wall mounted thermostat until I 18 years old. I'm a heavy equipment operator/foreman of the excavating division of a small family owned company. Been there 22 years and been working heavy construction for 28 now. I also try to farm a little, got 50 acres, and raise goats as my name implies. I enjoy going to auctions and buying old and obsolete farm equipment and then use it to farm with. I like the challenge of keeping the old stuff running. And a bunch of other weird, quirky things that a lot of people just shake their heads at.
