He's a cutie! Reminds me of a lab/Samoyed I used to have - a real mama's boy.

 

I had to go back and look again. Yep, front half is lab, back half is mastiff .

 

When he warms up he looks more mastiff.

 

Talking with my family this afternoon, my wife tells me it's "National Dog Day", to which my daughter pipes up "how is that different from any other day around here?"

 

Really like the brindle color he is sporting. Nice looking dog. I bet strangers keep their distance until you acquaint them.

 

My Molly was acting sick. Her mouth was all wet. She was leaning into me. I couldn't get her to take treats. I took her outside and stayed with her until she "went" then back in. She slept on the dog bed next to my bed. I got up several times and woke her from a sound sleep. Next day a little slow, but eating. Horrid gas. Today acting better. I lost a female lab at this same age from bloat. I am very vigilant about observing for any symptoms. Poor things, I wish they could talk and tell you want is wrong.

 

I know your loss still hits a raw spot. I wish I could tell you it gets better, but maybe not. Instead, you learn to live with it. Remember the good times. I know you had many.
