I hope to redeem myself V 2.0. When there’s a bust, you really wanna go overboard on the ordinance. Then I blow my windows out. I’m hoping for a happy medium Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You could always get some plywood for the windows when your at Home Depot picking up the 5 gallon bucket.
As someone mentioned in this thread. It’s all about direction of force. Essentially the tree becomes the base the explosion deflects off of but receives very little force itself. Much like the shaped charge of a claymore mine. Unless you can insert it into a hollow tree this exercise gets difficult. Basically the only chance of success is a tree so severely weakened already it’s ready to topple. With tannerite it’s difficult to shape a charge in reverse of the direction of fire. Bullet has to make it to target which is right through the path of any attempt to shape the charge. Not to mention that would send shrapnel of the shape right back at the shooter. I would suggest two pounds of tannerite. One bottle directly in front of the other. The first bottle will explode a millisecond before the one behind it. This should have the effect of at least minimally forcing the explosion of the second bottle to direct part of its force against the tree. Instead of weight your using explosives to shape the charge. No shrapnel. Also because your now toying with direction of blast accuracy becomes paramount. You may want to get that 5.56 sighted in dead zero. Need to hit that bottle dead center to achieve best results. Just going boom is no longer the only objective. Good luck, keep us informed of the entertainment. Thinking on it a minute. 4lbs in a diamond shape would work much better. 3 lbs directing the last pound directly into the tree
I’m not an explosives expert either, but I stayed in a holiday inn express 20 years ago. A buddy of mine was a powder monkey in the stone quarry. He always directed the blast by packing mud on the opposite side. The mud absorbs the shock on that side. Since you’re obviously not a marksman, it’s gonna be hard to set it off.
