I just looked at your installation and such manual and still can't tell how that igniter is actually mounted. It seems to be in an area that could get a lot of ash and the access to it is through a gasket-ed port cover that whole area is the intake air channel. I'd really have to see one of those stoves. It does look like there is a fitting attached to the cartridge heater.

They call it an air shutter in the installation manual.

That seems like a likely suspect right there

Sometimes stoves come with Canadian and US versions, although some just put the content for both countries in the same manual.

That's the manual I was reading. No mention of damper, but there is that flap Smokey mentioned. Make sure it is not sticking and able to open correctly.

That condition is known as a burn pot pile up and is bad, very bad news. It is an air flow issue.

Gaskets and latches need checking, anything from the air intake to after the vent termination needs cleaning. Your burn pot must properly sit in its receptacle. And even the fact of your altitude must be taken in to account and compensated for.

Need to start a new thread and get this thing nailed tight.

Thanks friend, I apologize, can you send me the link you are reading from? My page 8 has safety warnings on it.

Interesting to note: The first owners manual mentions a 3" OAK inlet. The second talks about a 4". Hmmmmm. Sounds like a lack of burn air was rectified in a later stove update. I think I mentioned a lack of burn air in a previous post?

Drolet realized the problem, and told owners to not go above 4 on the heat setting.....that's all the fuel it could handle given the insufficient air.
