Yes! so far so good, it stays/comes back at RPM when load is applied.

Gennys get their speed adjusted with a HZ meter...many multimeters have a setting for it. In the USA they get set to 60HZ...other parts of the world use 50HZ.
The voltage regulator should hold somewhere 115-125V at 60HZ
EDIT: on a small single cylinder powered genny like that you could also set the RPM to 3600 with a tach...that will be 60HZ on the genny.

I'll look to see if I have a HZ reading on my meter. I didn't check that, Thanks! I know when I used to regulate the generators on shipboard, we used to dial in the HZ. Thank you for that reminder, I had totally forgot it. o_O

Today my friend from the CG base who is the high voltage electrician came by with a multi meter that looked like the instrument panel to the space shuttleo_O:confused: and we ran the generator. On initial start up, it finally settled in at 59.36 HZ so we kicked the RPM up a tiny bit so he got it at 60.21 +- a few ths. We loaded it up with a heat gun, and the halogen lamps and it stayed between 59.80's and 60.09+- He said he was satisfied and it will fluctuate a little but for "most stuff", Lights, tools, it'll be fine. :) I think it's in the game now
