You're gonna love that X27! It will help out on scores too. So light and easy. Wait until you try it on some wet frozen oak!

Wind chill -6, supposed to be dying off soon so it will feel like the teens that it really is. Three year stacked hardwood mix for the overnight. Mostly black birch and beech, little white birch mixed in.

    Oh yea- not complaining (yet)

We are at 0° with the wind. Gonna get much colder with winds gusting to over 40mph.

Hit the road by 5:30 this morning and made it back by 4:00 this afternoon...which turns out to be darn close to sunset, now! A drive that took way too long.

The roads were a pile of crap to drive on, Took over an hour and a half before I saw any bare blacktop and that was just briefly! Lucky they have those rumble strips on the center line; it was the only way to judge just where you were in relation to you lane. (I hate those rumble strips-that'll be another thread!) And slippery too!

Temp was right around 8 but don't know what the real feel was. Chances are, it was colder....

Right now, it's upper teens with a feel of -3.

5 years ago I was driving home from a weekend at the inlaws house in the mountains in NH. Weather was supposed to suck that afternoon, and I wanted to leave early to avoid driving in the storm...but what do I know? So we leave later in the afternoon in a snowstorm. about halfway down Rt16, which is a two lane road I drove into a total whiteout. Couldnt see 10' in front of the hood all of a sudden. I hit the rumble strip, and just as I was about to pull on the wheel to the right I remembered that this road had the rumble strip in both the center, and shoulders. Had to think hard and fast and register which side of the car the vibration was coming from.

Mwalsh9152 yup those rumble strips are annoying when you dont need them but they will save your azz when the weather doubles down on you. Weve had them in this part of BC for quite a few years now. Just like you described Ive been in a number of situations where I cant see the middle or the side of the road due to snow conditions and its helped me drive by braille so to speak. I feel for those who have to hear them by their houses though. Once they were put in here (only on the highways) there were numerous complaints so they were removed in the vicinity of residences. The peddle bikers dont like them much either!
