    Got one sent out but not happy with sender. I wanted package sent and no receipt or name of sender. They couldn't do it!!! What??? Oh well, I'm sure the receiver will be happy.

    I have to confess....I have no self control!
    I opened the box.
    It wasn't an accident.
    It was a long box, and I could hear a handle rattling around in there, calling to me.
    I really wanted a new toy to play with outside!

    That's a piece of dry hickory. One blow! IMG_20171213_33795.jpg
    That pile took about 10 minutes, if that. It was like magic, hit a round, and it pops open! No setting a wedge up in a check, hitting it with the sledge a bunch of times, getting the wedge crooked, running into strings, just...POP. I tried it on some wet white oak, and it worked just as well. This is TRULY a life-changing gift. I'm really really grateful to to giver, it is an incredibly thoughtful gift. And I hope you're not sorry that I opened it, because I'm sure not. Thank you.

    I have the x 27, and it is pretty impressive. It takes an absolute beating and stays tight.

    I will try it on some elm. And apple, and oak, and red maple, and cherry, and red cedar, and birch, and pine, and ash...
    Oh, and I think the 28" handle is perfect for me, no need to exchange for the 36" version.

    Half joking with the elm. I have one elm round I hit at least 15 times with the x 27 and still no go. Elm is just misery.
