Was -22 when I got to work this morning. Cold Trigger Finger Not to be a Karen, I haven't complained that your artic air has been showing up in our yard but it has gone on long enough, your going to have to do something to keep your artic air there were it belongs.
Lately I have been burning a lot of Osage, Cherry, Mulberry, Ash with some Cedar, Ponderosa & Lindenwood mixed in there at times. Most nights it is Cherry/Osage mix. I will be burning Shagbark Hickory tonight.
Yeah, it can be tricky. I should have gotten all the sand done before the snow. There was none in the forecast. I spread more but it is not ideal. If I can get by for a couple days, they forecast warm for Wednesday followed by rain, then maybe ice then snow. Sounds nasty.
-7F here, clear & calm. 3" fresh non predicted snow on top of nicely polished ice. Got tired of trying to keep the parking lot sanded/salted by hand & went & got a 3pt pto spreader for one of the tractors. It's gonna get a salt/sand/ash mix in the am. Broke back into the Black Locust stash for the overnight.
Waiting on a new load to get up to temp. Mix of locust, elm, maple and a piece of what I think is box elder. 19 out now/70 in and fine snow coming down out
13 at home this morning. Stove is chewing through some mulberry, beech and red maple. Another warmup is on the way.
23 degrees here at 5am. I woke up and the house was 50 degrees, so I loaded the stove with small splits of poplar and a layer of red oak. At 6:20 the house is up to 53 degrees... But if I sit right next to the stove I can feel a little warmer, have a cup of coffee, and wait for the sunrise. Sure beats living in a city and having to go to work at 9.
Woke to 18/74. And went out to start my vehicle for the commute and it’s covered in white stuff. Loaded up w red oak and mulberry for the days burn.
11 out now but the wind is calm and sun is shining so it feels pretty good. Boiler is working on some hickory.
