doing some splitting today and noticed the head on my IsoCore seemed a little loose. I keep splitting for a bit and it was loose alright! Very loose. Just sent in the warranty claim to Fiskars. I’m sure all get a new IsoCore in the mail soon. Pretty sure buZZsaw BRAD did the same thing to his IsoCore.

buZZsaw BRAD how long did it take for you to get your IsoCore replaced by Fiskars? I’m already missing mine!

Do you get to keep the head or do you have to send it back? It might be nice to have a backup with a hickory handle.

Broke my X27 March of last year. Had to file a claim online with pics and two weeks later i got the new one. Here's the links:
    Broken F iskars!
Replacement for broken F iskars came today...no foolin'!
At the time pictures would suffice for the warranty claim. I guess it was abused and now its my understanding you have to send the broken one in. IMG_4188.JPG View attachment 273050 View attachment 273050

Took me ten days after the claim. Youve done me proud by breaking it. I work the hell out of mine and show them no mercy.
Have you gone online to their website yet?

I don’t think I’ll have to send it in. I was thinking of using it as a splitting wedge.

Ive used my ax head for a wedge. Problem is the back and blade are not parallel. Someday ill grind the head. Rarely use it though.

Thanks! And nice work! Probably a good thing I’ll be without the ISOCore for a couple days, my lower back is flared up a bit so should probably rest it up. And I finished CSD the last of the loads from my tree guy. He said he’ll have a load of Ash to dump after Labor Day so hopefully the backs better and the IsoCore is delivered by then!

I had a problem with the 17'' hatchet, sent in a picture, they sent me a claim # and about 3 wks later got the hatchet, they said, it would take a little longer due to the covid 19 mess Doubt you'll have to send it back. All things considering, they are on the ball, might take just a little while longer is all.

Dakota Hoarder, Did you have very many over-strikes on that handle before it broke?

Problem with doing that is that its metal hardness will be the same as your new Iso-Core, so both will deform when you strike it.

I’m sure I’ve had my fair share of over strikes, but I don’t think that was the result of breaking the maul. When I noticed the head getting loose I know there was no over strikes involved.

good point on using the old maul as a wedge.

Got this email today from Fiskars. I’m expecting my replacement ISOCORE by the end of the week or early next week. I never know a life time warranty was really a lifetime warranty until Fiskars!

Great news. I love Fiskars. Been wanting to get another X25 as i find myself choking up all the time on the X27. Lost it few years back.

I like the X27. Had a Isocore, let a friend use it and he broke it right away. Replacement was no problem, but I wonder if there is a design flaw.

I used my ISOCORE hard for 4 years. Even if it wasn’t lifetime warranty I’d buy a new one with no hesitation. I definitely got my money worth. If I get another 4 years from the replacement even better, and Fiskars will probably replace the next one! I don’t see a design flaw and I can’t imagine any other maul last as long or working as well.

Agreed, Most likely a lot of overstrikes. And you can't beat their warranty.
