Thanks Eric. I sure love seeing the kids get em'. He had to wait about 5 minutes for her to turn broadside. Gave him enough time for the nerves to kick in. Good thing we were sitting down cuz his knees got a little wobbly after the shot! Good times.
Gut laughing and tears coming out of my eyes!!! At least Herb don't wear the skinny jeans and hangs in there when he's man slapped.
Looking forward to some backstraps, for sure. My son wants me to make some jerky, but I think I will wait a bit. Better to make jerky from an old buck than a young, tender doe. We'll see what the rest of the season brings.
Herb definitely don't have any skinny jeans, but he did try to grow his hair out long once. I told him, "Why don't you get a cocktail dress and some earrings, Lucy, to go along with that pretty hairdo you got there?" He got the point.
Herb asked Frank and Beans if he could have some gloves, to which Frank and Beans replied: Herb got the point...
Did you save the heart when field dressing the deer? I boiled them and then sliced them up for lunch meat back when I was still hunting.
Can you imagine the sound that will make when it comes down?!?! And what exactly do you do with a log that big?
It's funny that you ask. I usually do not save the heart, but this time I did. I wrapped it up in freezer paper and my son labeled it " blood pumper". I really have no idea what to do with it. But I have heard so many people say how good they are, that I decided to save it this time.
Mine is full of turpentine, cuz that's what I drink for breakfast. Herb's is full of Sunny Delite, cuz he is a creampuff.
