havent bought from HD or lowes for years but yes..
GS are the go to now... just like the chows we're back then..
assume the chows are now bagged in a GS flavor depending on area you live....
    and let's not forget BLAZERS......

Suprisingly no, We see GS's from NEWP plants and the Allegeny Plant in PA. Some of the Northeastern blend are supposed to come out of CA, Which would be the Fireside ultra's or Energex CA blend(green bag). But Its hard to tell! I've not done any UPC comparisons to see if they are different per plant.

I suppose we should collect the UPC's from the Northeastern blend and compare??

Oh the blazers. The best catch I ever had, brother and I bought several tons after the warm winter of 15-16 IIRC at $200 a ton. I still have a bunch of those on the bottom of my pile. As I burn through my old stash, I'm almost at them.

The UPC code from the delivery I took last year is less than helpful. For 851444003009 Northeastern Blend that I am currently burning (received march 2022)

These bags say it is a product of Canada (which is different than what the bags used to say - see below)

The code just says Lignetics of New England - in Colorado
GS SKU-UPC 851444003009 Lignetics CO but bag says Canada.jpg
Their website no longer even differentiates between the flavors of GS

Older bags with the same SKU used to say made in NH and NY. Notice that there was no modifier on the bag. But if you look real close, you can see product of NH and NY (which would probably be the NEWP plant not too far from me).

Thanks bb, They used to also embroder a code on the bag that was hard to see. But I bet they don't do that either!

Its too bad they did let us figure out which plant. I might burn the ones from CA as they were pretty decent. Meh for the Newp NY plants IMHO.

Was at home depot yrs ago and right next the stove chows was couple skids of Blazers. SAme price! Like 219.00 ton or close back then. Guess HD didn't know how much better they we're. I already had my basement full. 5 tons but could not pass that up. Loaded 18 bags and some how I found room in the basement. After that was never seen again.

It used to be fun to hit different big box stores and see what they had. You’d see a different variety at the same named store, but just a town over. Now, it’s just pretty much “They have X number of tons of GS out back….”

Here’s some irony: Went across the street last night in VT to visit friends. They had just picked up some pellets; a few bags of AWF softies.

An Agway sells them. I’ll see if I can get the price per bag.

Just a follow up. I didn’t buy the pellets. I went to check them out. The bags were all swollen. They had been wet at some point. I even opened a bag and showed the lady selling them what I was talking about. They were garbage. The lady had no idea they were damaged. They had been in her shed since she bought the house. She didn’t know the history behind them. She also had never burned pellets. There isn’t even a pellet burner in her house. She was really nice about it. She took down her listing immediately.

    No harm, no foul.
