In case you missed it I did a nice walk through on gutting the muffler on that 6421.

Carl sold me the 85cc bb kit so I'm not so sure HD will cover anything after that goes in.

Thanks for the link. The muff mod is on the fall radar. Prob a rainy day I can hang in the garage and play around.

What kind of portable heat will get that SS cherry red? I have propane and I'm sure that's not enough, will mapp be enough?

It was just a regular propane torch. Orange hot will work. Mapp will work faster.

I would so you can see the difference!

I would also run the BB kit before the mod then after to see you gains. Really neat to do timed cuts before and after and see actual gains

Continuing on the theme, I picked up a Home Depot rental saw this week for a friend that was looking for a saw. $270 plus tax, As Is no warranty. Pulled the cat, general clean up and retighten. Overall a good deal....I'm now an CAD Enabler

    Pulled the cat?
Clarify!! you pulled the muffler to inspect the Piston or you did a Muffler Mod?

Muffler mod, just removed the Cat materials- no other modifications. Buffed the muffler for a sharp, if only temporary look.

Likely a muffler mod. Job 1 for getting the most out of these is taking the muffler apart and removing the catalyst.
