Found it! The first post I made was actually a PM to the one and only Backwoods Savage . I had noticed that he wasn't contributing to another site and when I asked around was told "he resigned". Did a word search and lo and behold here he was all along.
I don't remember what my first post was and to try looking back over 38,000+ posts, well, that is not going to happen. It could have been a PM to Scottie though.
So on Valentine’s Day you had a wood problem and we’re looking for a support group and wound up here. Got it.
According to the software this is your first thread. Fixed - Is it just me? after toying with this a bit I understand what Wood Wolverine was saying. Finding your first thread not too difficult. Finding your first post could take a real long time LOL
Made it back through and found my first post on here was pictures and post about our new Buck 91 in 2013 so just finished out 9th winter with her.
I found two of mine from the same day as yours, two days after the site came online and two days after our accounts were created. For some reason I think that there were technical difficulties in the first few days and our very first posts got lost. No way would we have been silent lurkers for two days after Scottie went live.
I had browsed the forums here for a few years when looking for certain information but never joined since I don't belong to many forums. I had joined that 'other' site a year or so earlier but got disillusioned with it rather quickly and jumped ship to this site. First post was an introduction. I dunno my first post...racked my brain to try to come up with something to search...and spent some time trying various ways to exploit the site search system, but no luck...and I can't see scrolling through over 16k posts (in order of most recent, back) to find it...why the heck doesn't the search allow a "oldest to newest" search?! I did find the date that I got my first "trophy point" (which was for my first post) on 6/11/2015, but for some reason when you click on it, that does not take you to the post...I would think it would!
Looks like this might be my first: Neighbours That Talk Behind Your Back I went to the last page in the Wood Forum and the Everything Else forum (as those seem to be the most popular), went to the last (first) page and kept going forward in time until I found my "first" post. It's 3 days after I joined so maybe it's the first, maybe it isn't. I was working lots of hours at that time so it could be.
Wow! Well, ok, thanks man! Certainly wasn't expecting someone else to sort through all that for me! Still can't believe there isn't a way to sort it by specific date, or oldest to newest...something like that.
