The wood is perfectly good to burn as long as it's dry. I just won't sell it. And I don't burn myself so unfortunately it's waste material now.

Soft wood. I don't sell it so it's of no use to me.

Life is like a box of chocolates. Tree service left me a load of...stuff. Apparently he didn't take the chipper to the cleanup job. I begrudgingly scooped it up with the skid steer and dumped it in the burn pit. The next day he shows up with nice clean chips. They will be spread around the property for weed control and/or turned into compost.[IMG][IMG]

The thought has crossed my mind. Actually I think I might try selling by the skid steer bucket full. Considering there is no processing involved, it would be easy money.

    Easy and cheap...why not?

    How are bundles sales going?

I picked up a new bundle customer and delivered 100 to him yesterday. Thought of you.
Record delivery for me. 30-50 my usual.

    Hoping I didn't get in over my head. IMG_5079.JPG IMG_5080.JPG IMG_5081.JPG

Holy smokes! I couldn't deliver 100 bundles of my life depended on it. Honestly sales pretty much stopped this winter. I've sold 13 bundles since the first of the year. Although bundles aren't typically big sellers during the winter. $20 loose stacks are selling about once a week. I've had 6 bulk deliveries this year, which I typically avoid but I'm taking whatever orders I can get. I'm averaging $155/week, but that is heavily influenced by the deliveries.

Any idea how often they expect that 100 bundle amount to turn? Are you using a powered bundler? You're gonna be a busy fella!

Being sick for 5 days means there's no firewood production. That's really annoying because the weather has been beautiful. I finally got outside last night to work on the load of hickory I got a few weeks ago. I filled the rack halfway and put a brace on the front to keep it from spreading. [IMG][IMG]

He is near campgrounds and says maybe 500-600 more into the Fall. I have four cords ready to go until then and will have more. He had asked if I could do that much and I said yes. Like I said, I hope I didn't get in over my head.

    And all were hand assembled.

It's a beautiful day in the wood yard to make firewood bundles and refill the roadside stand.[IMG]

I had my first encounter with locust borers last night. I had a few rounds that have been sitting for at least 9 months so I decided it was time to get them split. I found the little monsters in nearly every round.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
