I should of said. If you a gunsmith with 20 years experience like the guy in the video it's not bad. Haha
It's gonna be a few days before I can do it, I am swamped with work right now. I want to be able to do it on a day where I can concentrate doing it and not worrying about work elsewhere.
Guess not, need to start going back through there I guess. I had wrote them off awhile back never seeing anything?
So this must be the handgun thread I keep hearing about. I'm not really into handguns because i get scared when I see one, they are naughty. more of a single shot muzzle loader simpleton myself. but inherited these from my great grandmother when she passed so I keep them in the collection by which to remember her. they make me think about a warm batch of her maple sugar cookies..
Well...... If they scare you too much and you need to find a new home for them that will keep their heritage safe, you know who to call.
Piece of cake, took about twenty minutes and trigger does feel better. haven't shot it yet but it does feel lighter and a shorter pull. still a horrible trigger though.
Thanks. Those are words of encouragement. If you get their redesigned trigger it's suppose to take another pound or so off the trigger and reduce the pull as well I think. But it's like another $40, which is why I'm thinking just spring kit. If you spend $60 on this gun you have paid another like 30% of the purchase price on duplicate internal parts to Make it better. May as well buy an MP at that point right.
exactly, that's why I just bought the spring kit. It does feel better dry firing it. I will see when I shoot it. but feeling the difference it is well worth the 20 bucks.
Trigger reminded me of the older style Ruger lC9, That is probably the worst trigger I have ever felt.
Worse than this one!!This gun takes a lot of trash about the trigger. I think most of it is from the Glock guys that are just upset that Smith basically made a gun (that they could easily fix the trigger on) for half of what the Glock costs. Sure some parts may not be as heavy duty as the recoil spring rod (plastic) but you can get a new spring and rod I was thinking I saw for like $14 and I have read folks put thousands of rounds through the Sd9 without an issue. Will it last as long as a Glock? ? Probably not without issue. But it did cost half as much.
To me the lc9 was way worse than the smith. It was a small frame gun and had a horrendously hard pull and it wouldn't fire until you bumped the trigger guard with trigger. An aftermarket company made a drop in trigger for it that cost 100 bucks. I never bought it and still have the lc9. they got so many complaints that they did redo the trigger on the new guns and it's not bad now. Their called LC9S now. I emailed Ruger a couple times asking if something could be done and got replies back no, basically it is what it is and shouldn't be messed with. They did run an offer of buying you old gun for 100 bucks on trade in on a new one. well mine was like brand new and not that old. I wasn't selling it for that. but maybe I should have, it's that bad.lol
