Just spent the holiday weekend visiting family in Sparta and Cookeville Tn. Its beautiful country down there. My question is, I saw a lot of log trucks hauling logs while there. Most were 18" and up diameter log length loads. I saw a couple that were smaller size wood. Is all this logging down there for lumber, or pulp? These were too nice looking for a firewood market. Is the wood market picking up for you fellas that do it for a living? I thought maybe some of our Southern folks might be able to give this interested Yankee some info. My wife has been trying to get me to move down there and said, see, you can come down and cut wood for a living! I had to laugh at her. I told her at 52 years old and a bad L5 vertebrae, that ship has done sailed! They don't make enough pain medicine in the world to get me through a week of what real loggers go through, but, her heart was in the right place, but then again, I am heavily insured! LOL.
