We shoot steel targets at home so the egg part is not part of the cost for us. Unfortunately, everything else still is.

Shortly after I ended up with a new left over 241 from JimBear. You ruined me with your fancy rippers. Lol.

That sounds like a blast! My Win. 52C with 16X Redfield would be very competitive with ammo like Ely Club or better in the 22LR, & I have about 3 candidates for the center fire stuff, most notably a custom .244 Rem. built on a speed locked FN Mauser & wearing a 24in Shilen barrel & a 10X Lyman with a custom reticle. It has claimed woodchucks at 400 yds+ including one at 500.

There were a handful of Win 52C rifles at the competitions but Anschutz made up the majority.

I use a custom Shilen built single shot bolt action in 204 Ruger caliber for my go to target rig. The wife uses a 22ppc.
    Both very accurate.

I also have a Savage Anschutz 22 which is very accurate, but it is a sporter. A long deceased hunting partner from Ohio used a Win. 52D & won the national prone any sight twice. That was back in the '70s, & Anschutz was outnumbering the Winchesters even back then.

I sold a Savage Anschutz I had to a neighbor. Wish I had it back. 20/20 hindsight ya know.
