The cycle time ony grizzly has become unbearable. The specs say 8gpm and 2500 psi. I'm thinking of a 13-16 gpm and 2500 psi two stage pump. I think it's the standard 4 bolt 2" spread pump arrangement. Any thoughts or suggestion? I'd like to keep the cost below $200 for the whole project.... pics available upon request bit it's dark now. Also I've never done work with hydraulics so I don't know my azz from a dark cave on this.....
I'd like to see how this shakes out. BTW, next time I'd go with "elbow" instead of "dark cave"......Caves by their nature, are BIG.
Not much other than surfing the web for parts... I really only would like to increase cycle time. And it looks like anything is an improvement over my current 8gpm.
I wish I could tell ya I had experience with that particular piece of Kum Hai Nao equipment but it seems Rugged. I'd say as long as the rotation is correct and the mounting holes line up give it a wing and see what happens.
What hp motor is on your splitter? Going to a 16 from an 8 GPM pump might be a stretch. Your old pump may just be worn out. How Old is it? Many splitter pumps are made by concentric, formerly haldex. These are pretty standardized for mounting and the Lovejoy coupling. I buy lots of hydraulics for work.
On your own on the maths, but this chart may help with pump to HP and pressure figuring. Hydraulic Oil Pumps - Horsepowers Required
Rotation....? 3 years, not worn out, always dog turd slow. Bought the unit really cheap and figured i'd upgrade as i could afford.... Thanks for that, if im reading it correctly then my 6.5Hp motor should be ok for a 16gpm pump? I think the bolt up is 2", standard right? Pics
