Archery season opened yesterday here in upstate SC. I was able to slip in the stand yesterday afternoon and had two does come in a few minutes after seven. She gave me a broadside shot at 20yds and the muzzy went to work. I heard her crash and she didn't go farther than 30yds. I had a buck slip in this evening but it was too dark to take a shot. I'm going back in the morning to try to slip another arrow into one before church.
Went back this morning and saw two does and a 3 coyotes. I shot one of the coyotes, found plenty of blood and my arrow but not the coyote. I didn't waste much time looking for him
I just can't get excited about hunting this soon and in this heat. I like it cold when hunting. Yesterday and today was a foolish deer hunt in MI but fortunately there aren't too many out hunting yet.
