First thanks jacob j. For turning me onto the kit from Great Britain. So rebuilding a Bing 49 isn't exactly straight forward. OEM Kits have been NLA since 2009 or so. You can get a gasket kit on eBay from GB. That is the kit on the right. The kit on the left is being sold as a Bing 49 kit on eBay but it isn't it is for a Bing 48. However importantly the needle and the filter screen in that kit will fit in the Bing 49! Correct kit "other kit" Stihl 1119 007 1062 Carburetor Rebuild Repair Gasket Kit For BING 49B-104A Carb The spring. Rod. And lever are wrong however. But for $5 from china the needle works. Taking the 064 apart.
I kept the translucent diaphragm since it was in good shape and looked better than the one in the kit. Yum...
The Bing 49 is a super smooth running carb and was well worth the time and patience waiting on the international shipping to rebuild if you have one. definitive dave? Cost was a little over $15 for the gasket set. And $5 for the 48 set for the needle. If someone knows a better option for the needle I would like to hear it.
The gasket set was from Carb Tech Solution. I don't see it listed on their site though. TK / Bing / Ruixing / Nikki
Couple updates to this thread. I have had someone contact me on kits and there has been a big change in pricing. The kit linked in GB is now $127! You can get the same kit out of Australia for $14. There is no phone # on their site that I can find.
