Got waken up at 10:20 last night to the house shaking form the continuous thunder and lightning. Hadn't even started raining yet. Got the cats to come in just as the skies let loose with torrential rain. The rain lasted 20-30 minutes. Thunder and lightning lasted longer. TV was warning about winds reaching 60-70 mph - don't think it got anywhere close to that here, but I'm in the valley. No damage that I can see this morning to my place.

Same here, but later. I went to bed at 10:15 and there was some slight lightning but nothing started at that time.

Boy was it loud for a while...sounded like my subwoofers were in in use downstairs

Up at 5:40am (stayed in bed a bit longer than usual for a school day) and still humid but the air is already feeling better as I get ready to leave for work.

I must have turned off my alarm instead of slapping the snooze button. Woke up just before 6. I'm usually in the office by 5:30 :hair: Debated what to do, finally just emailed my boss and said I was working from home today. Already got a bunch done and passed on to the next person.

A very good flame re-tension burner and a small boiler does that.

Any guess of my order will get here it is coming USPS and left Chattanooga, TN last evening. Ordered several thousand yards of 50 wt cotton multiple colored quilting thread for the boss' birthday present. We had a joint birthday lunch on protein pills(those yucky things that become red when done) yesterday.

    Been there done that.

Our place has a self contained 1000 sq ft apartment in the lower level with no connection to the upper.
This was my parents place long ago and then the Father in law and then the cousin, and now we rent it out.

First tenants were PIGS and then decided that because they bought a new car they did not need to pay the rent.

    GAWD WHAT A PAIN.

Got a lovely gal in there now that is a dream.
Pays right on time and keeps the place immaculate.

    I feel your pain.

We had to rip out all the carpet and burn it, then mop the concrete floor to get rid of the dog wee wee smell and other nasty stuff.

Decided to replace with the cheap laminate flooring from Lowes.

New gal is taking better care of things than we do, and we own it.

    Good luck getting good tenants.

I expect normal wear and tear, but not destruction as you described.

Reduced amount of water in the boiler is part of the equation but not sure about the rest of it. Something called a 3 pass system.
