So basically, we "may" have two separate companies that "may" (at some point) have the same product in their bags?

Confusing is right :hair: bottom line for me is the NW brand is just to $$$ for me . I have other options that are equal to or better than them for less $$.

Someone must given this company this information:

There has been a change to the Okanagan brand of pellets. The parent company that distributed the Okanagan brand of wood pellets has closed its doors suddenly and has been taken over by another company doing business as Northern Warmth.

I saw a few others yesterday. It is funny how oakanagan manufactured their own pellets (plats) for the past fee years isnt that a fib? Also seems like a lot of dealers are fibbing. The nw doug fir aint the oakie doug fir, inferior product actually. Sad to see all the misleading and fibbing, wonder if it all comes from a common source.

I just re read most of this thread which started back in Oct 2016 and it was stated that the Okie golds = the NW purley pine come from the same mill in GA . Now the other 2 are not the same not sure what mills are supplying the other 2 brands of NW's , but they are not the old Okie 's . That's my understanding of it .

But here we are 5 months later and pellet houses are still advertising that NW = Okie and that's not true , guys correct me if I'm wrong .

My ?? is why is this miss information still out there ??? It's wrong and a disservice to the folks who were loyal fans of the Okie Brand duping them into thinking they are getting the same pellet in a brand new bag . From many of the reviews I've read on the NW brand many folks are less than thrilled with them [ disclamer personally only burned a few bags of Okies have not burned any of the NW's although , I do have a few of each grade in my stash so personally I can't say one way or the other ]

That's just my take on this situation shoot a hole in it if you don't agree

From what I have heard is the Okies DF to NW DF comparison kind of back fired due to the Pinnacle DF not being in the same league as the Bear Mountains. :headbang:

I have had a few contact me that didn't seem all too pleased, Looking for other options! :zip:

    Good find B!!!

Well this is very, very interesting...:

Is it true that Okanagan Wood Pellets changed their name to Northern Warmth?
No. Northern Warmth has nothing to do with Okanagan Wood Pellets and the brands are not related in any way.

Has the sales representative changed for Okanagan Wood Pellets?
Yes. Sales for Okanagan Wood Pellets are now being handled by American Biomass. The former sales representatives for Okanagan Wood Pellets were employed by Viridis Energy and are no longer affiliated with Okanagan Wood Pellets.

Curious to know if anyone here has seen the Okanagan Platinum product for sale since the brand name was acquired by American Biomass? The website suggests it has been available for quite a while, however I have not seen or heard of it being sold anywhere around this area. Was kinda expecting to see it show up on the wood pellets dot com website, but so far that has not materialized. Also interested to know what the plans are for the new American Biomass versions of the Okanagan Gold and Okanagan DF products. Would be great if someone familiar with the product line and future plans could chime in here.

I guess whatever was bagged of the Cleanfire line is no longer being bagged at Upton? It doesn't specifically say the Okie line so I assume no more CF bagged there either? I think there was some issue with the BM's or something (conflict of interest?)

Will you still be using the Upton distribution facility?

No. We are currently shipping directly from the mills to the retailers. If the retailer would like a less-than-truckload, we may source product from one of our many distribution centers throughout the New England.

I have not personally seen them locally. Or on any dealer sites for that matter. I suspected they would have been available on WP dot com site. Nada yet.

Ditto...Haven't seen them and don't know anyone who has burned them under new ownership. Heck, when I called to inquire about a load of them I kept getting their answering machine.

It's funny too out of all the pigs here, no one has seen or used them?
