    Who has one ? I would like to make one on the beam of my splitter but I want to see how all of you anchored yours. Mine will be diy.

    Pete, how do you want to run it? Manually (via long lever), an electric winch, or hydraulically?

    Pete, BrianK made a manual "jack" type lift for his.....ask him how he made it. Maybe you could make something similar......

    I think you've seen mine Pete, and its most likely not what you're looking for, but here's what I did for anyone else who is interested. Its a Harbor Freight truck bed crane welded to the hydraulic tank/axle box. It wouldn't take much work to swap out the hand crank for an electric winch:

    Thanks guys but your right Brian I am looking to finish fabbing side beam lift. I need some hinge ideas more than anything. I have rebar I was considering using as a hinge through a pipe ?

    Thanks Brian unfortunately I can't talk to jags anymore for reasons you know.... He was helping me with the splitter big time. Maybe I will head over to tractor by net he's a great guy and I still owe him homebrew ;).

    Jags' machine uses some heavy round stock (1"?) and two pillow block bearings to pivot the lift. Overkill for a winch lifted application for sure but bombproof and pretty easy to do in any case.

    Hmm that sounds doable. I will put pics up tomorrow of what I have going MM then you can get a better idea too. It's simple but hopefully effective.

    If you are planning on mounting the winch like it is in the "jag.jpg" photo, I would recommend you have a drop down support of some type to help support it from the ground.
