Who has one ? I would like to make one on the beam of my splitter but I want to see how all of you anchored yours. Mine will be diy.
Pete, BrianK made a manual "jack" type lift for his.....ask him how he made it. Maybe you could make something similar......
I think you've seen mine Pete, and its most likely not what you're looking for, but here's what I did for anyone else who is interested. Its a Harbor Freight truck bed crane welded to the hydraulic tank/axle box. It wouldn't take much work to swap out the hand crank for an electric winch:
Thanks guys but your right Brian I am looking to finish fabbing side beam lift. I need some hinge ideas more than anything. I have rebar I was considering using as a hinge through a pipe ?
Thanks Brian unfortunately I can't talk to jags anymore for reasons you know.... He was helping me with the splitter big time. Maybe I will head over to tractor by net he's a great guy and I still owe him homebrew .
Jags' machine uses some heavy round stock (1"?) and two pillow block bearings to pivot the lift. Overkill for a winch lifted application for sure but bombproof and pretty easy to do in any case.
Hmm that sounds doable. I will put pics up tomorrow of what I have going MM then you can get a better idea too. It's simple but hopefully effective.
If you are planning on mounting the winch like it is in the "jag.jpg" photo, I would recommend you have a drop down support of some type to help support it from the ground.
