Mt Bachelor ski resort in Oregon has shut down because they have gotten too much snow and the lifts were buried. A few years ago I was there and in a week we received 6ft of snow. most epic week of skiing I'm my life. White room every day.
So a warm summer, where the water in the lakes get warmer, the more "Lake effect" snow (or rain) for your area. Being colder than last Fall, this year should be lower precipitation "Lake effect" snow Someone said ice was forming on one of the lakes.
Ummm. Dave. The fact that many are crazy for living in Lake Effect areas does not negate that you are crazy for living up in Alaska.
Not crazy when you've live here yur whole life. These events are no big deal. It's the people who are traveling through the area that aren't used to it that make it a big deal. The weather channel people hype it up too. I swear the reporters are all from Key West and never seen snow. You never see them interview someone from Buffalo. It's always the guy from Georgia just passing through chitting his pants .
...and it seemed like only yesterday you was picking berries. No snow down here (got a little last week), but it was 14F last night. Today is the earliest I have ever worn longjohns.
+1 , True Proof that living here in winter is crazy when 10,000,000,000 ducks & geese leave PS: 41° right now
Congrats, the Lake Effect managed to get on the Dutch news. It will be interesting to see if you guys will keep the cold vortexes for your selves again and we in Europe will be having a warm winter like last year Sure don't hope so, just love to see smoke above a snowy roof
