For some reason I felt really good burning these pellets ;) Pellets were variegated in color and had a great sheen on them and slid in the hopper easily. Pellets were hard to break apart and quite a few were scorched. There were next to no fines in the bag. Ash is a medium grey, coarse and fluffy. Ash volume was a bit higher than I like but I sort of expected that with a hardwood produced here in PA. I inquired about where they get their raw material from and what species they use but haven’t heard back yet. If I do, I’ll update the post.

All in all I these burned hot and the glass stayed clean. I am going to ding these a little for a higher ash volume. I rate these at solid 3.5 stars. Amen.
