It being a powered draft, the blower overcomes any natural draft. That little angle I doubt would hurt anything, as there is no hard bend or restrictions. Its still mostly vertical and you could stick a broomstick all the way down that vent.. In the event of a power outage, I would think it draft fine.

With that said, my OCD wouldn't allow for it. So I would fix it just for cosmetic purposes.

Looks good Gas, waitin for some fire pics :)

I just installed the entire amount of pipe the kit had because they sell that kit for that stove. That's what I thought any way. I can certainly take a few pieces of the pipe out if you think that is best. Or vent it straight out the wall.

What's the consensus of the pros?

Starting fire tonight in a few hours.

Your fine using all the pipe. Englander states a 3ft minimum rise (which you have). The bend isn't gonna hurt anything.

Fire that beast up and If you get time, ad some spacers to the top bracket to get it "plumb".

Yes you do have a good case OCD.

I just want the installation done by the book.

Shortcuts and not paying attention to details frequently leads to operational issues. You know like an EVL of 25 using 3" vent or venting into the prevailing wind.

    Gas,

A straight horizontal vent is not recommended by the installation manual.

Quick question guys. If I want to leave pellet stove running tonight, temps going down to around 34. What would be a decent setting to try for tonight? I have not hooked up a thermostat to it yet. Not sure I am going to. Camp is about 1000 sqft, insulated, but not well insulated.

Yup. I think someone else was talking about someone else's stove having a straight out the wall vent.

Try the lowest heat range or the next one up.

Yes like Smoke said, I'd probably try it on heat setting 2 just to be on the safe side to keep it running. To low of a setting, depending on the pellet, might not keep the flame active. Your stove still might need to be dialed in but you'll need to burn it for a little first.

Ya. Going to take some getting use to especially because we do not stay here. But I have the next three days off so I will be in and out often. Very often. After that I can be in every day to check on the place and will be.

It is a nice glow. I have it on 3 right now and it is throwing a good amount of heat.

I left it on 2 and closed up the camp. I don't like leaving it like that the first night of firing it. But it seems like they are pretty safe. Doesn't seem to get to hot. But I have only had it to the 3 setting. It must really throw some heat when you turn it way up! Who here owns one of these or a similar size pellet stove?

Heat level 2 is a good choice. 1 might have burned out. Thats your pilot and may need to be dialed in (wont flame out or to low of vacuum).

For the size of the camp, it will recycle the air quicker with the blower on its max setting. But the air temp will feel lower.

Gonna take some experimenting to find out what heat level and blower level works best.

I ran the Englander on 3/3 last night... first night with the stove, too. Don't forget Englander recommends you run that stove on #5 for three hours to break it in and cure/burn off the paint.

I have the next three days off. I will heat it up this morning after I put the kids on the bus. Going to be working down there for the first half of the day today. Have to finish buttoning up the basement door.

krooser. That is cool, we both started it the same night. LOL. Did you get the same model as well? What kind of space are you heating with it. Did you put it right in your living room?

I decided to put it right in the living room of the camp because that is where we hang most of the time when there. I was concerned about if the heat would get around the camp enough. But the living room has two large openings to the main center room of the camp and the blower on this thing moves quite a bit of air. And that is just on 2 and 3 so far. What is the blower like on the highest setting? LOL I have not even turned it up past three yet.

You can turn the blower speed up higher than the heat setting. Your temps out of the front will be lower, buy it will have a faster air exchange rate and may set up a better convection loop?

    Worth a shot..

Glad it's working out for you Gas.. :)

Camp is 58 deg. this morning. Great news. It was about 33 here early morning. So this thing should be able to keep up no problem even when really cold. May have to turn it up to 3 when real cold, but only trying to keep it 45 or so to keep the electric heat off!

Front glass getting a little dirty already. What do you guys recommend to keep front glass clean and best way to do it.
