My FIL is looking for an insert for the basement level of their split level. The stove is probably going to run 24/7 through the winter so it needs to be well built and fairly efficient, also a good view of fire is important. Thoughts?

Either Napoleon insert or Horkn's wood chomper of an insert. I'd consult the latter with him. If anyone knows a good insert, he does. You're up Tom.

This ^, and what kind of budget we talking about?
Are they far enough into this to be thinking about secondary tube vs cat stove?

I have a Drolet 1800i that we really like... I consider it a steal for about 940 out the door.
