Not sure if people can see this without Facebook, but if you have it you'll like it. Thats me out in front of the place. Good Time Stove Company and Architectural Salvage
Yep. A beautiful example of motorcycle engineering art. 6 cylinders, 6 carbs, and 100/100 , she is as smooth as a Buick and has the torque of a John Deere.
6 carbs..... I hate maintaining the single carb on my thumpers. What kind of mileage do you see? Not that you probably care whilst grabbing a handful of throttle on that beast!
If ya gotta ask.... no, seriously, I am getting about 38 miles per gallon over a typical day ride tank. It drops quickly if you are on the + side of 70mph all day long.
Every year I do this Ride New England contest that the New England HD dealers run. Visit about 25 of the NE Dealers and get a stamp. Collect all the stamps and you're in a drawing for a brand new HD Road Glide, value=$25,000. Only about 250 get all the stamps. I am on my last two stamps. One is Bangor Maine, and the other in Caribou Maine. So this Sunday morning, myself and 4 other riding friends also doing this are leaving early and making the ride into a 3 day extravaganza, first going up to Caribou on Rt202 mainly, and then coming back down toward the coast and over towards Owls Head for lobstah rolls Day 2, then down to Portland and cross over through NH to Mass for Day 3. Weather is going to be gorgeous early New England Fall weather. Life is good.
Take some pics! What routes will you ride? The Kanc will be beautiful. Foilage is just beginning in some spots around here. I'm sure they are similar. One of my favorite rides is the Kancamagus Highway to Rt 3a north past Franconia Notch then down 302 back into North Conway, taking West Side Road to avoid North Conway center. Then straight across Rt 153 back south. Ride safe!
Union River Lobster Pot, Dude you were like 15 minutes from me, you did get the blueberry pie for dessert didn't you? Look me up next time.
I did and glad of it! My friends all got the chocolate chip cookie extravaganza.. but the pie with some vanilla was perfect after the lobstah roll! Dave, I will next year..it's going to be a regular run.
The Stove Man, as everyone calls it, is about two miles from my house. They have some nice old stoves in there.
Pretty cool - I've driven by that place on 112 countless times on my way from Hinsdale to Greenfield when I was working there. Never knew what it was. Now I do, thanks for posting! I saw a wedding taking place there once on a drive by.
