So, after RTFM, we're all correct. Page one is the cover, and this is the next page once you open it (I opened the French direction side 1st...DOH!).
Yeah, directions.......we don't need no steenkin' directions. But Al, what would we have discussed if I'd found that and RTFM FIRST? HDR, yep. Talked to my brother and nephew a bit ago, and the plan is coming together quite nicely. I plan to get up early, light the DV heater, get the coals out of the stove so it can cool while I'm having coffee. Then I can pull bricks, the door and the metal parts in the stove to lighten the load. I'll also undo the old stovepipe and pull it. If the stove gets here before they do, I can uncrate, pull the bricks, etc...... Heck, with all the ice outside, I might be able to slide it to the front porch with the tractor. Hmmmmm. Time to go fire up the Cub.
I was surprised when I pulled the metal the door and it bricks out of mine how Much lighter it was. Hey they don't call pallets, skids for nothing
Got a point, Dave. I bet we would have found something, though. Heck, we already got 6 pages outta the new stove purchase. More to follow, I'm. Sure.
Hey, I can yack about almost anything. Maybe not in any sort of meaningful way, but still........ I'm always bugging others for info and pics on their installs and their firewood scrounges, so I thought I best try to keep the info flowing here. Looking forward to the morning. I put the tractor in the shed and got some more gas for it...just in case.
Didn't notice that the delivery driver called and left a message that he'd be here between 8:30-9:00. Too late to call him back tonight. I'll be up early.
I hope to be making fire well before noon. Got a bunch of kindling out in the shop made from cutoffs, I plan to bring in for the burn-in. One thing I'll need help with is getting the Ashley into the shop before the "help" leaves.
Well, are you up and watching for the delivery truck........ You don't want to miss it if it comes early
He's out pouring water on the lumpy ice, to get a smoother surface. He's building something akin to a luge track and is hoping to pilot the stove right onto the hearth. But if the brakeman isn't on his game and they make it to the wall, he's going to have one big air leak to seal!
Nothing like a good chuckle to start the day. Yes, the stove got here just after 8:30. I got up and followed the plan....to a point. I haven't undone the old pipe. I don't know when my kin will show.....easy to do when they arrive. The tractor lost traction for a second when I was pulling up to the porch, but it worked like a charm. The driver was nice enough to bring the skid to the end of the "walkway", or as I call it this time of year.....Dave's luge track (that was for Woody). So, on to the pics, with more to follow as things regress...uh, progress. Ooooh, look, a truck. I thought it might be a straight truck, but when he called he said he had a semi.
ESW gives you a card to call them for your free blower, and to register the stove with them. Didn't know that. Unboxed, but still strapped. Had to check for shipping damage. Found a couple damaged bricks. More on that later. Don't know if you can tell, but the luge track is right below the skid. About 40' to the porch.
This is my version of a tow rig. Helpers are, I'm assuming, still asleep, so no real tow strap. Standing on the porch looking toward the shed...sort of.
