Congrats Dave! The 30 should be a nice fit for you, and so was the price. Can I ask what the contributing factors were to choose the 30 over the IS? Was it only the price??
My prediction: It will work a lot better than the Ashley. The fan will allow you to get long periods of usable heat. Long term? You will upgrade to a BK. It is a low risk move that will improve your situation. Your house will be warmer longer. When you do end up going with a BK, you will be able to sell the stove for about $500.
Dennis, it's supposed to show up in my driveway. Funds are still only on hold at the credit union, and the HD site was down when I checked a couple minutes ago.
Just got on the HD site. Order is complete and shipped Awaiting departure from ROANOKE, VA Waiting for info from the shipping co., but it's going to Mesick first from Roanoke. Ok, now I'm getting a little excited. Used to go camping in Mesick when I was a kid.
Cool. We camped with some other families from church....I think I was ten. That was.......uh, a couple minutes ago.
Just got home after a long hard day and I thought this darn 30 would be on an airplane heading for Michigan by now. Didn't you request expidited shipping Dave ? We wanna see a picture soon with that thing burnin like the hinges of hell.
If expedited had been available, I may have paid for it. I hope it doesn't burn like the hinges of hellz. I'm waiting too Ray. Have been for more than a couple years.
Well holy crap! Way to go Dave I hope it gives you many happy warm years to come. I was beginning to wonder if you would ever order a stove lol. Seriously congrats!
Awesome, I'm glad it went through! That thing is going to be a heating machine. You should be able to give it a decent test with the overnight temps we're still getting.
I don't remember if I mentioned this in this thread, but I plan to use dblwall telescoping stove pipe when the 30 gets here. The ceiling box adapter is Selkirk. Can I use something other than Selkirk? I can get Duratech locally tomorrow, but will need to order the Selkirk.
Well, I've been waiting for this deal and having the money at the same time for a few years. The stars aligned. The IS would be great, as would the Sirocco, but I thought the extra money could be better utilized elsewhere right now. We need a new kitchen stove and I could use some more materials to finish the stove room. Now, I need to hit the hardware for a 1/8th" steel rod, and a length of 1/4" gasket. I have high heat tape in case I decide to adjust intake flow.
