For Sale One skid of hard wood pellets. There are 50 bags per skid and each bag weight is 40 lbs. I have 5 skids available.

They are asking $100 a pallet, since I burn wood not pellets I was curious if this is a good deal? Just curious is all.

Depending on the brand, that could be a great deal.

If they are not severely damaged that is a great deal.

Me either :emb: Except I heard about them here, one of us tried them in his pellet stove and they did not meet his expectations.... No idea if horse bedding pellets are softwoods or hardwoods either, maybe someone will chime in?

Some hardwoods(Black walnut) are irritants for horse's. Softwoods are what I've seen for bedding.

I've heard the lighter color horse bedding burns great. I can attest that the dark stuff is some nasty stuff to burn.

I've burned the ones from TSC , they were fine , just a bit pricey and not considered fuel in PA so you have to tack on tax too :picard:

Im told by the horse folks that a good horse bedding pellet is only softwood (coniferous trees). Hardwood pellets (deciduous trees) have tannin concentrations to such a point that prolonged exposure can negatively affect the horses' hooves.
