Ye old yard tree. I rarely if ever have to worry about it, the metal. The few times it's ever happened to me I was seriously offended like someone stole my lunch or something. lol Looks like your splitter is due for a workout now!

I have enough free time in my shop schedule that I should be able to get all this mulberry. Then I'd guess within the next weekend or two for the cherry and locust. That guy has a Kubota and offered to load the mulberry for me but the ground is a bog. So I might cut log length on the cherry and mill it at home.

Right before leaving for lunch, the guy that owns the place showed up and I told him I had to go home and regroup w/ chains because I hit metal. I reassured him for me it's just part of scrounging free wood and that I appreciate free heat. If I hand filed, I'd be bummed heavily. I'm hoping to stuff the staging area more before splitting. I really don't have a place for splits till I re-pack the basement. Might have to do that this spring.. as I need the room.

Fantastic Jason! That is a lot of work but well worth it.

I know you like the big wood and it just seems to me you would like it here at one of our GTG. We do get some big ones. So far the biggest was somewhere around 60"! But you should make plans soon as the last GTG at our place happen in early May. It's been a good run with many parties but this will the last one here. You are welcome. You might even be able to hitch a ride from PA.

Right. I didn't get much wood into the trailer compared to how I load the chestnut oak (which is typically dead standing) and the fenders started getting close to the tires. Pretty significant difference.

    Nice grab, The Wood Wolverine!!

I do have to inform you, however… that you have been reported to the “no fair” police, since I never seem to get scores like that.

Lol, yes I seem to. I keep forgetting a trash bag. I want to bring home some of the noodles for firestarter.

Really slowed down and it is what it is. I’m wore out!

    Just shut off the saws.
