There was a creepy guy in the wrong place at the wrong time hanging around. Specifically at the billboard I had painted "PRIVATE RESIDENCE BEYOND THIS POINT" he walked past it. We are 20 miles from town and he is on foot?!?

ALSO happens to be where I pick my daughter up from the bus.

I got home and made sure I had WWW's giant revolver ready if I needed it, but OMG it weighs so much, and god forbid what if I need it in my truck and its here at the house?

So WWW is talking with a seller. I'll let you know:)

Stay safe. Lock the doors, leave all exterior lights on.

They always show up when least expected.

    :salute:

You just jogged my memory, going to get the bear repellant spray for my truck console and will hopefully have a gun I can handle in the near future. And yes, I had the doors locked while waiting for bus, then hurried lil one into truck before bus was gone and locked the doors again. You are quite kind, thank you.

1903 is an interesting choice. I don't know a lot about them so maybe it is a great choice.

Did you call the sherriff? was he on your property?

They will still confront a person if a person reports a creepy individual in a not normally are like you describe.

Why the 1903, I'm just curious. I've never held one but apparently they're pretty ergonomic guns and I'd think with a metal frame recoil would be pretty manageable.

Isn't that a giant oldschool type revolver? like a cowboy size 45LC?

I would think you could find a somewhat smaller one, an old police smith, .38 or .357/.38. with .38 have almost no felt recoil, be lighter and easier to carry

I just Google it...thinking the only 30 something auto I can think of is a .32acp.

Yes id definitely get a smith revolver or like a GP100 or some revolver that served police duty and is proven.

The 1903 is proven, it's had over 100 years of proving itself! Apparently they're pretty reliable.

The proven comment wasn't at the track record of the 1903, but more about get a proven revolver. she has said before she has had trouble working this gun I believe and it's functions. Not really a scenario you want to have in a protection weapon.

For someone like that a revover I think is better, no buttons to push for a mag to fall out, no levers or things that would confuse one to as a safety or decocker or whatever it may have.

    Just a trigger to pull

Something about the weight, and balance, he thinks this will easiest for me to shoot with how weak I am. And no doubt he has always admired this model  . Plus a push button in the back to prevent operator error :picard:

Yes clemsonfor , I did call the sheriff, twice, it went to voicemail and they returned my call monday morning  . He was not on MY property, but yes totally out of place. I could have dialed 911 , but I didnt.

I have a new can of mace in my purse. Have not seen the creep since Fri afternoon thankfully! For all we know he broke into an empty house or camper and is still here.

If you're not used to shooting a snubbie revolver or are recoil sensitive, they do kick a decent amount even with .38 special rounds.

I think the 1903 is a pretty cool choice. And for a very long time the .32 ACP was considered a great concealed carry round, my 90 year old grandmother has one hidden in her apartment somewhere just in case.
