Atom Splitter AKA "Wood Destroyer"

Collected too many BIG rounds at my wood/chip dump over the years. Got tired of working around them. Thought about loading them up and trucking them out but the $550 price tag on the splitter was a cheaper option. This thing is a beast on my Dingo. Destroyed some big 2-3' aspen rounds and some 3-4' maple crotches in no time.

 

That does look lethal. Wow.

Do the rounds try to spin?

 

If you don't keep down pressure on the rounds they will.
Or trying to split on cement/flat surface.
I split 3 - 4+ foot in diameter and 3-4' long maple crotches like nothing.
My old mans OWB takes 52" wood so this splitter is the catsazz.
The more I run it I'm finding knotty green wood is tough splitting. If its been laying for a couple years no problem.

 

I see the bobcat label on it, but what is it?

 

hydraulic drive for my excavator.....screw will be here next week....i was inspired by JustWood
