What? Expecting the same quality that has been provided for years at 50% higher rates? Yeah, picky. Maybe the problem is that people are accepting sub par for pristine pricing.
Just messing with you G... That's basically where we're at it seems. Sky high prices and a lot of the time, lower quality
Sooo, in the end I bought 10 more bags of LaCrete today. They get the job done. Hoping to find some alternatives but not holding my breath.
If they old ones were truly only spruce, a switch to a blend, or of a different species altogether would surely produce some variation in the end product. I bet most wouldn't notice or care.
I dont know about that anymore B. If the premium pellets are now closer to big box then maybe a change is coming.
Although, big box isnt much cheaper than what I can get LaCrete, Matra or LG. LG is pretty much the same price as TSC, HD or Lowes. Lowes Greene Team is 1.78 per bag more than LaCrete or Matra from Henry McManus. I guess since my last bulk purchase was fall 2021, I wasnt buying as the quality was dropping so it was a sudden realization along with the 50% price increase. Tough to swallow but it is what it is.
If your(he's) lucky the TSC had MWP in their stacks. I wasn't so lucky. Mostly GS and the few TSC branded but not MWP!!
Same here with Rocky Mountain Pellets. Sold a decade or two ago and now they are dark super long, and literally bark chips in them. Yes, we burn them when needed, turn the stove up and empty the ash pan more often.
actually burning my1st hardwoods in past 7 yrs... Hamer hots... bit more ash than i am used to with good softies but not a deal breaker since I clean the stove once week.
What are the MWP codes at TSC? I thought I had seen that it was getting harder to tell what the brands were in the TSC bags?
