I know the EasyBlaze bags seem to be very heavy duty and maybe dosen't breathe as quick when you move them . So because of that air pocket allows the pellets to roll around more .
OK, we are on the same page then. That $250 price is a fantastic deal for this product. Between the price of the Vanderhoofs, and now the North Country - those folks who live close enough to get product from Henry are really very lucky to have such bargains available IMO.
I think the bag thickness and the amount of perforations is more likely the culprit. Pellet density will only make a marginal difference in volume
Greetings Dan, Do you have any info or feedback on the Spruce Pointe's this season, re: breakage and fines? The SP's I picked up burned -really- well in the stove here last season, but there were a ton of fines and dust in the bag.. Like 3 cups worth. Just curious. * I see you guys are offering them again at a great price again, very nice! Thanks, Rob
Nice! The few LaCrete bags I picked up & burned last season burned just as clean & hot as those when we were starting out in '14-'15, just a really nice pellet w/ low ash. It's much the same here, Satisfaction (LG) pellets again for bulk, and a random ton or so of different stuff to play with: last season was Vanderhoof Platinum, Spruce Pointe, LaCrete, Olympus DF, Maine Wood Pellets, and a few CleanFire Pacific. This season: North Country, Easy Blaze, (new) Okanagan, and Northern Warmth (Spruce, DF) pellets are on the list here to try.
buddy of mine bought 4 or 5 ton of LG hope they work out for him...never tried em myself...still new to pellet burnin
We like them, a little more ash vs. LaCrete, and a touch less heat at a given feed rate, but the small 'Princess' stove here likes 'em. LGs like to be burned hot (glowing bright) - so if the stove starts to get sooty, or the pellet ash is mostly black, need to kick up combustion air a little.. Ash color should be a good mix: primary grey, w/ some black, when they're burning well. * The extra air also helps kick the ash out of the pot well, reviews have rightly observed the ash is a bit 'heavier' / grainy, vs. other brands.
