Well I have had a chance to use the Iso Core 8#er. Was able to split some really big rounds to facilitate loading rather than noodling. Works good splitting through the center and the vibration does indeed seem to be less. It's a heavy brute and feels heavier than a conventional 8# maul although I didn't weigh them. Getting a pretty good amount hauled home, some split, some I still am working on.
Well I finally brought the iso 8 home today and split a bit with it. My life was not change. Lol It is a work out and boy I can feel it in my shoulders and core about an hour or so is all I wanted to do after work. It really does handle the vibes very well and swings nice. Doesn't stick much and splits well. We charge $68. Through true value and I think it just like the x25/x27 are really hard to beat for their price. I would proudly sell one to a friend who needs to keep his family warm.
That last one you were beatin on there looked just like my experience a couple weeks back when I tried the 8# out on some Hard Maple and White Oak...except I gave up before it popped. Ima gonna cheat with some hydro on this stuff...
Looking great. I've lost 15# in the last two months splitting by hand. Nothing better than free btu's and a workout at the same time. Keep it up! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
What's up guys/gals. Been reading through the thread a little bit since I decided today I need a new maul for splitting. Been dealing with some 30-34" rounds lately and don't have the help of hydros to get it up to my splitter so I have to bust out down to a size I can handle. Been using an old 8# Oregon maul with a solid fiber glass handle. Decided It was time to upgrade with the degrading shoulder I have. Had a question on these and didn't find it earlier in the thread. Could have totally went over my head haha. So correct me if I'm wrong. If for some reason the handle ever gives way is it replaceable? I see what looks like a bolt through the head of the maul. Would that be for replacing the handle? -Rick T2 Tappin'
O wow that is a heck of a warranty. Just got ship the broken one back for inspection of what caused the failure? T2 Tappin'
Well I have definitely found my new maul. Hopefully the handle on this maul will send less shock up through my shoulder T2 Tappin'
The whole idea of the Isocore handle is to reduce the shock you feel. I'm not sure it really does reduce it because I don't have another 8 pound maul I am willing to swing that hard.
Picked this up today at tractor supply while I had to make a parts run. Grabbed a gallon of that $6 b&c oil while I was there too. Haven't been able to test out the maul but hopefully tomorrow evening will allow me time to get out and swing it a little bit T2 Tappin'
I ordered one yesterday from Amazon. With their one-day "big thanks" promotion, free shipping (but had to pay sales tax, WA state), it came to $55. Looking forward to having it join my x27!
