I totally get your reasoning. I went with a toro titan with the My ride suspension system because of the ride and simple design of said system. My transmissions are serviceable as well. Hopefully its as trouble free as the toro personal pace self propelled push mower we've owned for 20+ years.

No mention of cub cadet zero turns.

Is there a reason for that? I don't know which way I'm leaning ........yet.

    Deere?

    Cub cadet?

    Other?

I got the dial suspension seat. Supposedly I have a degenerate spine disease and this may help.

I know a couple of cub people unhappy with their plain riding mowers not sure about zt's. Cub dealer is also a Scag dealer and only had Scag on display.
The dealer I bought the bobcat from is a Deere dealer but I didn't see any zt mowers.
The grasshoppers looked good though, not impressed with the Toro line, at least anything not requiring a second mortgage.
What are your local dealers? Most mower companies are buying the guts from the same places.

Same thing I have in my neck. Not fun. Your seat will be better than a regular rubber or short coil spring mount seat that's for sure.

I showed my wife the controls & how things work, told her to just mow the open spaces to get accustomed to it.

I should have folded the ROPS cage down, she tried going under the clothes line & got a nice wheelie out of the deal, then blasted the 500 gallon propane barrel & knocked it off the blocks…

I am not sure that it makes much difference with the tractor type or zero turn for her. We had a X380 tractor type & she busted the 4” pvc clean out pipe off 3 times & busted the water spigot off the side of the house twice with it.

She bent the deck once & bent a set off blades as well…

    At least she mows. :makeitrain"

Been talking about getting something for a couple of years. Not my problem if they don't listen. Getting delivered Friday or Monday hopefully. She works from home so...... Imagine I'll get a call.

I personally wasnt impressed with anything they had (most of it homeowner grade) even their commercial stuff just seems poorly designed...my FIL has a Cub Tank ZTR, ita a turd.

I saw that most dealerships seem to only push the brand they like. For instance Toro by me only had the real entry level (was afraid I'd bend it getting on) to some real pro grade park golf course type stuff. Nothing in between. Cub dealer who also sold Scag only had cheap cub stuff for the buyer that remembered Gramps had an old cub forever. Everything else was Scag.
I was impressed with the bobcat mowers being built since the 70's in Wisconsin. Didn't realize that the green Bob-cat mower company was purchased by Bobcat. Easy company name change! Just remove the hyphen.

I was assuming that's what went down...when I looked at them they were still the green Bob-Cats

I tried Toro (with suspension seat) cut was better odd since they said Ferris stole Deck design.

bought Ferris also Toro dealer, with full suspension and dealer (4 miles away) put suspension seat on it ZT is 2013 IIRC still runs flawlessly I did have to replace original battery last year

Mine has the whole operator platform suspended. It rocks front to back and moves up and down with adjustable coil over shocks.

You met me so I'm pretty sure you can guess why suspended usually means bottomed out.

I just wrongly assumed that Bobcat just imported some mowers like they did with the compact tractors. Didn't pay them any attention until I heard that they bought the Bob-cat company.
I've seen the old belt drive walk behind mowers on the 3rd engine still going.
