Dado a grove (a hair bigger than 3/4" wide & 3/4 deep) in a 2x4 , use 3/4 plywood for shelf bottom. Paste wax the grove.

Had some bearing drawer slides, used them on a few.

These pics are making me jealous. My shop is a little 5x10 (maybe) room off my carport. And part of that is taken over by the water heater :(

Thing I notice the most about your new cabinets Pallet Pete is that they're on casters. Can't go wrong. Gives you lots of different storage possiblities too. Nice cabinets.

Well that has got me hooked Highbeam….. I am building a moving 4*8' bench on steel casters. those casters are $28 each but I feel its worth the small price in the long run. I am drawing it to scale for the workshop layout ill post it up when I am done.

Just went and found an old vid Pallet Pete ... pretty cool way to make retractable casters for a workbench, if you wanted a solid bench sitting on rugged legs, once you moved it. Slick.

My next big project is to dismantle the welding table and hinge the top to the side of the new workbench so it can hang when not in use or lift up to be used. Then I can keep all that angle iron for other projects…
