    My wife and I still do this. Heck, she packs us a lunch :stirpot: to drive to huskihl and back to drop off / pickup a saw. Under 3 hrs each way. :tractor:

    We did the same thing when we traveled with our kids. We always packed enough food so we didn't have to stop someplace on the first day. Cheap worked for me:whistle:

    I did several days long loop through NW Colorado two summers in a row for my job, both times WWW packed a cooler with lunch meat/bread, fruit, yogurts and drinks etc. I was so thankful, I could pull over on a rest stop, grabbed food and ate with shop owners that scheduled with me during their lunches, even ate it in my hotels because ski towns are so darned expensive. I'd never done that before except for hunting/fishing trips. YUMM!

    There certainly is nothing wrong with packing lunches. I did it for many, many moons.
