Kinda funny after as many years that I've been a small engine wrench that some things still elude me after all these years, I know I've worked on a few of these many years ago, and owned a NOS Sportser but never used it because it was NOS, thanks to my buddy Andy, I went over to his place pick another Mac saw on the cheap and he threw in a couple sears 3.7's and a box of other misc. parts, was able to put one of the 3.7's together and finished a few things on it this morning, decided to take it out back in the woods to see if I had it dialed in right, found a blown over Ash tree and put the old Roper to work, I'm still somewhat shocked at how well this saw ran, it wasted no time on the tree at hand, even with a 20" B/C, saw was running great so I cut all of it up, hauled it all back up, split and stacked it, turned out to be a great day, and the saw was ready for more action!!.....
Nice woodpile old 040. This is my favorite time of year, i got a 5 day weekend coming up gona do some firewood cutting. Ive been working too much to give any attn to my old saws. I got two 3400 s that i think i can make a runner out of, also a 056 stihl, and a poulan pro 455. It just takes time and im still learning on the saw wrenching thing.
