It’s free. Come get it. Or give me suggestions on what to do with it. 0CDA3A6E-07B2-46E4-A4CF-5347715CDC18.jpeg 65FF85A7-2061-4198-9B71-8002CF56B508.jpeg 616AE80C-2A92-4894-8DF7-D518B4E88356.jpeg 83AAD78C-52CF-40D9-A68B-46C37B70C5DE.jpeg

    Yep cotton.
The heat to ash ratio is a little low for me.

Not familiar with Cotton wood. Reading through I guess it’s not primo. Hope you get use out of it.
Keep an eye out on the root ball and the stumps if you cut the last one. I am familiar with blowdowns and that one might want to replant itself.

Yeah it’s pretty worthless as far as wood goes. Not to mention we’re pretty spoiled around these parts on hedge or “Osage orange”.
I’m willing to burn about anything but like I say the ash to heat ratio is wayyy too high on cotton.

I’d burn in my fireplace. Wish I had some right now, got the stove on low and it’s 76 in the house. I got a couple cords, but won’t be ready till next year.

Good for shoulder season and cold restarts.

I burn a little cottonwood from time to time. It’s not bad. I think it kinda gets a bad rap. I realize it’s not oak or ash, but it’ll heat up the house. It’s does make a fair amount of ash, but it burns pretty clean. Won’t gum up your chimney with creosote. I’m of the opinion that if it’s wood, I burn it.

This is true. The straight grain is easily pop-able. I like it a lot for outdoor fires if the splits are big. Flame burns bright and high. Doesn’t smoke all that much when dried properly.
