Xtra Hard Teeth?

    Yes to both. But the cutters are sharpened before the chain is put together. Some are sharpened with a fresh wheel, and at some time that wheel needs redressed or replaced. The cutters at the end of the cycle are probably burned a little bit. So after sharpening, they probably drop into a container where they get mixed together

    I went to use the 25" bar and chain and didnt realize i hadnt sharpened it. Teeth were HARD and file seemed to glide right over them. Tried with a new file and same result. Tried another chain (not 25") and no problem. Any suggestions? Should i get a diamond or carbide file? Strictly sharpen it with the Dremel? PITA! :mad:

    What brand files are you using? There is a big difference between Pferd and China files

    I’d use the dremel or take it somewhere for someone to grind. You’ll pretty much kill your files.

    Usually one sharpening with something a little bit harder will take care of it. A Dremel will work fine. And then you should be able to go back to regular filing
